Mr. John Rauscher is the son of James and Vanessa Rauscher; born and raised in Amarillo, TX.  At the age of 2½ he began taking violin lessons through the Amarillo Suzuki Program at Amarillo College where his father formally served a thirty-five year tenure as Piano Professor and Chairman of the Music Department.  Over the years, his musical experiences would take him down various paths including; piano lessons from his father age 6-18, participation in TMEA All-Region Orchestras (4 years), TMEA All-Region Choir (1 year), and Tenor 2 in the 2003 TMEA All-State Mixed Choir.

John began his Bachelor’s studies in Music Education and Violin Performance at Texas Tech University under the tutelage of Dr. John Gilbert. During his time at TTU he gave multiple solo violin recitals in Amarillo and Lubbock, performed with various chamber groups, as well as the TTU Symphony Orchestra, Plainview Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Hobbs Symphony Orchestra, and many other string ensembles.  It was at Texas Tech that John began his studies in music conducting under the tutelage of Gary Lewis.


In December of 2008 John received a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Violin Performance and began his teaching career with Fort Bend ISD as the Director of Orchestras at David Crockett Middle School.  From 2011 – 2015 John was Director of Orchestras at Katy High School in Katy, TX.  He is very excited to now be in his 6th year with Frisco ISD here at Pearson MS.


John has a tremendous passion for both teaching and performing music.  He is extremely grateful for having such a loving family who supports him in everything he does.  John and his beautiful wife Chassity, Director of Orchestras at Rodriguez Middle School in Denton ISD, met in the TTU Symphony Orchestra and were married in 2009.  They have three children; Logan-9 years-3rd grade-Bledsoe, Trinity-5 years-Kinder-Bledsoe, & Ava-5 months
